An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday & hopes of tomorrow!
It’s kind of hard to believe that we are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary! It’s funny, but I remember exactly every moment about everything in our relationship! We met, Thanksgiving night 2003. He asked me to be his girlfriend December 27, 2004 & we broke up May 2005, lol (the first time). Many break ups and makeups in between, but dangerously in love (my favorite song) we married April 15, 2008in MoBay, Jamaica. We were supposed to marry the following day but there was an excursion that I wanted to go on so we pushed the wedding up a day! He’s always been so easy going & me the same!
I wish I had some awesome marriage advice to give but I don’t. I think the most important thing to do is marry the person who God made specific for you. Someone you gel with. The man/woman who you can be yourself around. Most importantly someone you like, because after the kids are grown or if they never come, it will just be the two of you.
When we got married many moons ago at
Sandals in Montego Bay Jamaica, it was absolutely everything I wanted. My
father was not able to walk me down the aisle so I never wanted a traditional
wedding in a church. Today, 10 years later
I can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing than relaxing on the beach with a
cocktail in hand. This is so me. My personality. No fuss, just us!
We have visited the Cancun area back in
2012 for my best friends 10 year anniversary, but we didn’t explore as much. We
swam with the dolphins and that was it.
This time around we mostly explored in Tulum. We swam in a Cenote which has been on my bucket list
for a while now. We took an excursion to the Mayan Ruins & rode ATV’s. I looked everywhere for an excursion to swim with the
sharks but that’s only offered during certain months! Most of the time we ate and drank by the pool or at the beach. We even played tennis as part of our morning workout! In all it was an awesome weekend of us celebrating and reminiscing about past vacations, the day we got married & everything in between!
