SanJuan

San Juan, Puerto Rico is just lovely! Do you know the story on how the US acquired Puerto Rico? Definitely something to read up on! And definitely somewhere to visit!!

I’ve decided since becoming a travel agent that I’m no longer going to tell all my tips, tricks & secrets on how I snag such amazing deals but I’ll just say we spent no more than a small car payment on air & hotel.

We flew Delta Airlines & stayed at the 4.5 star La Concha Renaissance Marriott Resort! The hotel had a stunning beach, 3 pools & 3 restaurants, gym, spa & more! I would definitely return! Next time, I would like to stay longer so I may opt for an Airbnb although while on vacation I don’t like to cook.

This mini trip was to send my mom off, it was the 3 year anniversary of her death and before she passed she told me to spread her ashes everywhere I go, so with COVID still not under control on the mainland, my hubby & I got tested (negative) and set sail for San Juan. It went a little like this.

I must add that I’ve been to Mexico & Puerto Rico since COVID19 & they are both doing a much better job than the United States mainland. For instance in Puerto Rico they have a system called a Sarah alert where you have to register prior to traveling and provide a negative Covid test results which are verified. They will text and/or call you if you don’t respond to check on the status of your health while on the island. In addition, all taxis & Ubers require a mask to be worn the entire trip and prior to booking an Uber you have to show proof of having a mask on before you can even confirm. In the malls there are security officers that are walking around to make sure that you have on a mask and are social distancing. All stores and restaurants are providing hand sanitizer & taking temperatures upon entering. I felt extremely safe & wish that the US mainland was doing more to ensure our safety.

As always, thanks for traveling along!
